Purpose of the Role

The Account Manager works with both their clients and the internal team to ensure the efficient and effective running of their accounts. They clearly understand their clients’ objectives and requirements, the commercial terms of their retained accounts and projects and level of resource required to service the accounts.

Client facing, Account Managers translate quick but creative thinking into decisive action; providing team management, delegation of tasks and exceptional B2B content development, digital marketing, and social media skills.

The Account Manager is responsible for overseeing smooth delivery across the account. A comprehensive understanding of B2B marketing strategies – both digital and traditional – is key. This individual also contributes to the delivery of the work and oversees quality assurance on all account activities.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

Program and Project Management

Coordinate and monitor the work of internal delivery teams to complete tasks on time and within budget. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand project priorities in the context of agency and client expectations. Troubleshoot stalled processes and seek help from team leaders when appropriate. Translate projects into calendars and task lists.

Client Management

Serve as the point of contact for a portfolio of client accounts, working with the team to determine strategy and objectives for each client, develop a plan to execute against them, and ensure that expectations are set and met.

Creative

In collaboration with other team members, develop concepts and ideas for digital campaigns, across social, paid media, and integrated marketing campaigns.

Delivery

Provide creative and strategic services to clients, such as digital content creation, copywriting, data analysis, and implementation. Actively participate in meetings, both client-facing and internal, and produce follow-up documentation. Develop strategies that address client objectives and develop tactics that further those strategies. Write and produce client-facing proposals and presentations, strategic plans and other materials, both independently and in collaboration with other Team 201 staff.

Reporting & Analytics

Monitor the effectiveness of digital programs through weekly reports, and assist in analyzing the data in order to optimize our efforts. Provide strategic and tactical recommendations designed to achieve goals.

About You

  • 5-7 years digital marketing experience focusing in organic, paid, and content areas.
  • 2 years agency experience in client-facing role; tech client experience a plus.
  • Preference working in a fast-paced environment (agency experience preferred).
  • Acute attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to plan and prioritize.
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering high quality digital products and services to time, specification and budget.
  • Understanding of client business issues and requirements.
  • Understanding of the local market and opportunities for growth.
  • A persuasive and convincing writing style.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interact confidently with clients at a senior level.
  • Ability to troubleshoot team and client problem areas – and suggest a remedial course of action.
  • Creative thinking and an open-minded approach.
  • Must have experience with major organic and paid social platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Must have experience with Google Analytics and social media measurement tools.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (i.e. Marketo and/or Hubspot) a plus.
